Arsenal have made an attempt to discern how much it will take for Standard Liege to sell striker Michy Batshuayi this summer, according to sources.
The Metro reports that Arsene Wenger is keen to secure the services of Batshuayi at the end of the season, and has made an approach to Standard in order to find out what they deem to be an acceptable value.
The same report states that the Gunners would be willing to part with £10million in order to land their man, who has been on their radar for some time now.
The 20-year-old, heralded as an exciting prospect for the future, has been monitored by Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Everton, with Roberto Martinez perhaps seeing a little of on-loan forward Romelu Lukaku in Batshuayi’s play.
It’s likely that he will compete with Wenger in the summer transfer window if the Frenchman moves for the Standard star, but the Gunners won’t be prepared to give up on their target without a fight.
With their only recognised frontman being Olivier Giroud it has become clear that the north London giants need to bolster their frontline with more talent if they hope to challenge on all fronts.
