Robert Lewandowski has confirmed that Wojciech Szczesny did try to talk him into signing for Arsenal.
The Borussia Dortmund revealed the worst kept secret in football last month, confirming that he would be joining rivals Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
Bayern were always favourites to secure the striker's signature but that didn't stop a number of other interested parties making an approach.

Szczesny claimed that he tried his best to convince his Poland teammate to join him at the Emirates but failed.
Lewandowski himself has now confirmed that Szczesny took the opportunity to persuade him in the days leading up to their Champions League clash, in which Lewandowski scored the winner.
"I can confirm that Wojciech Szczesny tried to convince me to join Arsenal,"Lewandowski told Polish tabloid Fakt.
"We had several talks about this. It was him who did most of the talking, how the club looks inside, what Arsene Wenger thinks of me.
"When we trained before the Champions League games at Colney, there were important people from Arsenal at our sessions as well."
With Wenger desperate to add to his options up front, the free signing of one of Europe's top talents would have boosted the club's chances of success next season. But alas, Lewandowski opted to stay in Germany.
The 25-year-old has admitted that he is still not thinking about his move the Allianz Arena at the end of the season, instead concentrating fully on Borussia Dortmund.
He explained: "I just lived with it. Straight after signing the deal with Bayern, I released the statement where I committed myself to Borussia for the final six months.
"I'm not thinking about all this, and what will happen, it's not the right time."
