Wayne Rooney or Robin van Persie will have to leave
Manchester United this summer if Edinson Cavani arrives at the club,
according to top European football expert Andy Brassell.
As reported by
talkSPORT, Brassell
has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain are looking to offload a big name
in the up coming market, but it's unlikely that it will be Cavani.
The Uruguayan forward has been heavily linked with a £60 million switch to Manchester United, but it remains to be seen as to whether the club step up their interest in the forward in the near future.
Brassell has instead insisted that Manchester United will focus on other areas of improvement this summer.
Speaking to Hawksbee and Jacobs, Brassell said: "It’s quite unlikely. Manchester United have other areas of the team they need to improve.
"PSG do want to sell a big player this summer but they don’t want it to be Cavani.
"He’s been complaining all season about not playing at centre-forward
so, if he did turn up, Wayne Rooney or Robin van Persie would have to
move.
"United would never have been able to keep all of them happy. They have other fish to fry."
Before the opening of the transfer window, Manchester United will look to end a disastrous season on a high.
Ryan Giggs is currently in temporary charge of the Premier League
champions and the Welshman will be hoping to steer his side towards
three points against Norwich City this weekend.
