Manchester United may yet land the world-class player
they are looking for, as FIFA agent Dario Canovi has stated that
Juventus are seriously considering the prospect of selling Paul Pogba
this summer.
The reigning Premier League champions have long been linked with a
move to bring back the Frenchman to Old Trafford, but in the past
Juventus' resolute reluctance to part ways with him looked as though it
could be a long-term obstacle. However now,
according to French newspaper Le 10 Sport,
which cites an interview with radio station Rete Sport, Canovi
considers the notion of offloading Pogba one that his club are seriously
considering.
He is quoted as having said: “Juventus are seriously considering selling Paul Pogba."
Said to be worth a mooted €70million, such a transaction would
provide Juventus with a cash windfall that they could use to strengthen
their own ambitions. Of course United will have the resources to
complete the deal, and a r
eported player exchange option could be in the offing in the powers that be in Manchester were serious about Pogba’s return.
Naturally United would face stern competition for the youngster’s
signature from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, but the fact that
Canovi believes Juve are willing to consent to his departure is at least
a step in the right direction.
